Telco company and global tech firm form JV to launch digital telco brands

e&international will also benefit from digital expertise and global operations.

Telco firm, e&international, and global technology company, Circles, will form a joint venture (JV), to provide digital experiences to customers in its operating markets and beyond.

Under the JV, e& International, part of the global technology and investment group, e&, sought to promote its network of Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and other operators based in the region to launch digital telco brands that deliver digital experiences for the digitally savvy generation.

Circles has since launched its digital telco, Circles.Life, in partnership with M1 in Singapore, Chunghwa in Taiwan, and Optus in Australia. Circles also joined hands with other national MNOs such as XL Axiata in Indonesia to launch Live.On and KDDI Corporation in Japan to launch POVO 2, allowing them to fast-track market growth and capture market share quickly.

The deal will improve e&international’s position as a pioneer in bringing technologies to the region, as it will benefit from Circles’ digital expertise and global operations all over 13 Asia Pacific and European markets, bringing the best in digital solutions to e&s footprint in 16 markets and more.

The JV’s CEO John McEvoy said he will leverage the expertise in technologies and strengths in telecom to deliver solutions and meet evolving needs of the global mobile operator community.

It will also leverage Circles’ cloud-native, digital SaaS platform called Circles X, which allows MNOs to deploy digital telco brands globally and promotes an agile digital-first revenue growth engine, at an affordable operating cost by a traditional telco.

Built for operators by an operator, Circles X boosts MNOs to create seamless and personalised digital experiences. As a result, it will achieve a net-promoter score that is higher than industry standards.

In a statement, e&international CEO Mikhail Gerchuk underscored telcos’ role to innovate to deliver the demands of digital native subscribers.
