MediLink Network addresses Philippine healthcare woes with unified ecosystem

The solution alleviates healthcare system pressures and enhances patient outcomes.

The Philippine healthcare system has come under various challenges, including high population density, limited resources, and a shortage of health professionals. These issues have resulted in an overburdened system, making it difficult for patients to obtain timely and quality healthcare services.

With this situation, MediLink Network’s integrated IT platform is transforming the healthcare landscape. By leveraging technology, MediLink is bridging these gaps and developing new solutions aimed at alleviating the strain on the healthcare system whilst improving patient outcomes.

The organisation has developed a unified health ecosystem that is composed of multiple applications with the aim of optimising healthcare operations and improving patient experience.

These web-based applications include a Member Link that allows HMO members to search for doctors or hospitals, seek Letter of Authorisation (LOA), view medical records, and request for reimbursement, a Payor Link that facilitates account administration for HMO providers and provides customisable reporting, and an Account Link that enables HR or group heads to manage members of different HMO providers.

Moreover, MediLink’s unified health ecosystem has a Provider Link that simplifies claim submission from healthcare providers to payers, a Doctor Link application that facilitates requests from practitioners to payers and provides daily or monthly data, and an integration layer that empowers the ecosystem’s new products and services with the intent of democratising healthcare capabilities across platforms.

Numerous success stories demonstrate Medilink Network's significant impact on the healthcare industry. In the last 24 months, the health ecosystem applications supported a total of 2,038,710 active members across multiple payers or corporate accounts.

During this time, its automated LOA system handled 15,121,980 LOAs, ensuring timely authorisation for critical medical procedures and treatments. MediLink's applications also facilitated the efficient processing of 10,052,910 availment claims, providing seamless transactions and enhanced services for patients.

These achievements have brought recognition to MediLink Network as they have been awarded the prestigious Philippines Technology Excellence Award for Software - Healthcare Technology at the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2023.

“Through MediLink’s efforts, we are at the forefront of revolutionising the country’s overburdened system. By bringing together the small players in the healthcare industry, we are changing the future of healthcare with our innovation, commitment to collaboration, and data-driven processes, ensuring that everyone has equitable access to the healthcare services they need," the company said.

The prestigious awards programme honours the most outstanding technological projects and innovations, and recognises exceptional companies that are riding the digital disruption wave to lead the digital transformation journeys in their respective industries.
